IN PRODUCTION: Producer Bess Carrick is working with Jim Land on this film that chronicles the restoration of the Art Deco terminal building at New Orleans Lakefront Airport. Built under the guidance of Huey Long and Abe Shushan it opened to tremendous fanfare in 1935. This beautiful and rare architectural gem will return to aviation commerce in 2013. Shushan Terminal is the most significant historic restoration project undertaken since the devastation of hurricane Katrina swamped and battered it. The restoration project is being spearheaded by Architect Alton Ochsner Davis with Richard C. Lambert Consultants, and the Airport Committee of the SELFPA-East. Our film follows many of the expert craftsmen and artisans as well as create a narrative history of aviation firsts that anchor the New Orleans Lakefront Airport into the record books forever.
